Reusability of Photocatalytic CoFe<sub>2</sub>O<sub>4</sub>@ZnO Core–Shell Nanoparticles for Dye Degradation

The reusability of CoFe 2 O 4 @ZnO core–shell nanoparticles (NPs) for the photocatalytic degradation methylene blue (MB) under UV radiation was successfully investigated. NPs with various –to–ZnO concentration ratios were synthesized as magnetic photocatalysts. X-ray diffraction spectra showed that had a cubic spinel ferrite phase structure and hexagonal wurtzite ZnO. Fourier-transform infrared presence M oct -O, tet Zn–O at 593, 347–389, 410–429 cm ?1 , respectively. saturation magnetization approximately 30 emu g coercivity 280 Oe. absorbance peak broadened shifted to right (higher wavelength) increasing ZnO concentration. higher concentrations exhibited activities rates. enhancement MB can be attributed formation an internal between rate decreased slightly after each successive recycle. results indicated recycled could reused three times degradation. As there is no significant decrease in four recycles, are suitable application dye
